Golden yummy bits

Today I made a treat for the birds. It is so nice to provide something else!
Ingredients: (and this time I sort of measured it!)
1/4 cup buckwheat flour
1/3 cup quinoa flakes
1/4 cup mixed raw nuts
1/2 cup mango (thawed)
5 dates
1 tablespoon blond flaxseed
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon sunflower seeds/Β pine nuts / pumpkin seeds (mixed)
1 tablespoon shredded coconut
1 tablespoon palm kernel oil
1 tablespoon fruit powder
1 egg
Put the dates, nuts and mango through the food processor and mix everything together.
Add all the ingredients and form the bits.

In the oven for 25 minutes at 350˚ F

  1. Thank you πŸ™‚
Till now this is the best ‘cookie’ ever.
I had Tommy kept away from the counter because he did tried to grab a piece again and again lol.
He loves warm snacks and these chunks just came out of the oven….
But Kiko and Rikki are also very enthusiastic about these bits!

  2. We have several exotic birds living with us. I try to feed them a healthy “natural”diet. I am delighted to find your recipes! Thanks for sharing! I have a question about this one, Is the temperature of 80 degrees F right? Our oven is in F but does not go that low.

  3. We do everything in Celcius, and I see I do the math wrong!!!! *oh ohhhh*
It must be 350˚ F, I will change it in the blog.
My oven will not go that low eather…

  6. Hi love your website. I am going to try some of your yummy recipes. The first one I was going to try is the Golden Yummy Bits. Just a quick question about the recipe. After the ingredient palm kernal oil I’m not sure what is to be added other than egg. Can you clarify for me? Thanks so much. Looking forward to making some of your very delicious recipes. A big “Thanks” to you for sharing.

  7. Oh darn I had another question I forgot to ask you. Is it one Tablespoon of each (sunflower seeds /pine nuts /pumpkin seeds) or one tablespoon of all combined? Thanks again:)
